Over 2 days the TC engineers took part in refresher training covering various areas that are part of their daily activities. Each area was presented with the use of the training plans which then followed onto some practical lessons...
LOTO reminded them to “Lock it, Tag it and Verify it”.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Perception focused the engineers on risks applicable not only to customer sites but also whilst working in the depot. They covered topics such as, what is the risk, the need, the principals and the refusal to work policy.
Fall from heights refreshed the rules when working on ladders and scaffolding and also stressed the importance of personal fall arrest systems.
Safety while working on Air Handling Units provided a back to basics approach from what is an air handler and how does it work, to the maintaining/repairing and installation.
The refresher training received positive comments from all involved and is a great way to start 2014...
