Warehouse Distribution Centre - Process Cooling, Derbyshire - 402kW Chiller Hire
The Challenge
This distribution and logistics specialist faced a potential melt-down as hundreds of thousands of pounds-worth of stored chocolate risked melting in its warehouse in the face of a Spring heat wave. The company required an urgent response to ensure stock was kept cool, while the fixed on-site cooling system was completed and commissioned.
What Did We Do?
A member of our rapid response team visited the site and assessed the cooling requirement. The chocolate in the distribution centre had to be kept below 22°C in order to maintain its quality; however temperatures were nudging upwards by the hour. A proposal for a temporary cooling solution was put forward and accepted by the end user, and CRS swung into action.
How Did We Do It?
We delivered to site a CRS 402 chiller complete with two CRS 450 air handling units to provide the required temporary cooling. The plant was powered by a 350 Kva generator with associated power distribution.
The CRS team positioned the chiller outside on a loading bay, with the generator package adjacent together with the buffer vessel. Air handling units were sited within the distribution warehouse and connected to the chiller by temporary hoses running under a loading bay door.
