Carrier Rental Systems invests in new chiller fleet with bespoke design for even greater resilience

Following continuing growth in demand for temporary cooling plant, hire specialist Carrier Rental Systems has invested in a new fleet of bespoke high performance chillers for deployment across the UK.

It includes additions to its medium and high capacity machines, spanning 220 to 400-plus kW of cooling, plus new model sizes at the small end of the range to cater for applications with modest cooling requirements.

The chillers are all from Carrier’s high performance Aquasnap scroll-based range and feature a compact, all-in-one package design that installs quickly and easily.

Importantly, the new chillers are encased in a custom-built steel frame to protect them during transportation to and from site. The frames serve a double function, assisting with safe and rapid delivery and removal at the end of a project, and enabling high density stocking at CRS distribution centres through double-decker stacking.

Marc White, director of Carrier Rental Systems, says: “When existing cooling equipment breaks down, particularly in critical applications such as hospitals, data centres and process cooling situations, it is vital to ensure replacement chillers are in place and working as soon as possible. Our newly enlarged chiller fleet now has even greater resilience, enabling it be deployed quickly and safely, and to withstand the often arduous conditions of temporary cooling duties in the field.”

He added: “It is in the nature of hire projects that cooling plant sometimes has to be located in situations which are not ideal. In particular, a temporary chiller may have to be positioned on an existing base-frame; the integrated high strength steel cage helps stabilise the chiller plant and spread the weight, reducing point loading.”

Customers will benefit from the new plant, which gives additional peace of mind as well as helping swift and safe deployment.

The new chillers join CRS’s existing fleet, strategically positioned around the UK and Ireland, ensuring immediate availability in the event of urgent requirements.
