Facilities Management - IT Block Chiller & Generator Hire - Reading
The Challenge
During the planned replacement of existing plant equipment on a critical site, an office building maintenance company required the deployment and commissioning of chiller equipment capable of providing 1mW of cooling on a temporary basis for a period of 21 weeks.
What Did We Do?
Carrier Rental Systems attended the site, assessed the requirement for temporary cooling and made a rapid recommendation which was agreed by the client. Equipment installation was to be carried out in liaison with the current plant maintenance engineers.
How Did We Do It?
After discussions with the existing plant maintenance engineers, Carrier Rental Systems were allocated three days for deployment and commissioning of two CRS chillers and an SLD generator. Due to the lack of suitable loading points on the roof of the building, an extremely restricted space was found for the chillers and generator to be situated. However, all necessary equipment was located in place, with precision.

Results
Carrier Rental Systems deployed and commissioned the required equipment within the timescale specified. Due to the Carrier Rental Systems engineers liaising with the existing plant maintenance engineers, the changeover between the existing plant and the temporary equipment was seamless. This resulted in services to the office building being uninterrupted.
